I’m sure Maggie and I are not alone in feeling that this summer is flying by. It seems impossible that tomato vines are already drooping from the weight of their fruit. Weren’t we just awash in the season of strawberries and asparagus? That is perhaps the most bittersweet quality of eating with the seasons; as soon as one veggie or fruit tapers another is ripened and ready to take its place. And then there is that peak summer moment when growing sessions overlap and the market tables are full to bursting. The abundance is staggering and I always relish in this delicious, if not fleeting time. We are very excited to share in the flavors of season later this month, when we host another The Farmer & The Foodie cooking experience at Foxhollow Farm on Thursday, July 18th! There are still a handful of spots left to join us on the farm, where we will harvest a variety of fresh produce together, Maggie sharing her knowledge of biodynamic and regenerative farming all along the way. We’ll bring what we’ve plucked, dug, and snipped from the ground to the farm center where we’ll demonstrate some of our favorite ways to enjoy these fruits of the farmers’ labor. Plenty of samples are always on hand to accompany a discussion that never fails to be vibrant and enlightening. We hope you won’t miss out on sharing this experience with us - after all, summer sure is flying by!
